This is why you need to follow the warning of professionals when they warn you about these things. Upon infection, you are requested to pay for a file recovery program but it is extremely unlikely that you will get your files back this way. It would be naive to expect that criminals will feel obligated to provide you the decryption software even if you pay, so we cannot encourage it. We recommend you to eliminate srpx, rather than giving into the demands.

Ransomware distribution methods

Normally, malicious email attachments and bogus downloads are used as the major methods to spread. One mistake you might be making is opening email attachments irresponsibly without thinking about their safety. If you carelessly open email attachments, someday, you may end up with ransomware. Getting programs from suspicious web pages is another way you may end up with malevolent file-encrypting software. Only trust legitimate/official web pages to provide you with secure downloads. Don’t expect suspicious pages or random pop-ups to provide you with dangerous software-free downloads. If you have a tendency of obtaining suspicious applications, your chance of infecting your operating system with malevolent file-encrypting software is that much higher.

How does it affect the PC?

Aggressive file-encrypting software is thought to be a quite alarming contamination as it encrypts files. Every now and then, malware specialists are able to provide free decoding utilities for those affected by the file-encoding malware nevertheless it’s not always possible. So a contamination may lead to you losing your files. The first thing the file-encoding malware will do upon infiltrating is employ difficult encryption algorithms to encode your data. As typical with file-encoding malware, you would then be provided with a ransom note telling you that you must pay to get the files back. No matter how much money you are demanded to pay, you must think thoughtfully, rethink your decision. There are no assurances that you could be able to get your data back, even if you pay as you are dealing with hackers who may just take your money. Also, by giving them money, you would be basically supporting their impending activities. This is why copies of files saved somewhere else is so needed, had you had it, you could access data without having to give into the demands. Invest into backup, if you did not have it before. Even if you do not have it, you still must erase srpx.
